Turtles & Dolphins

Turtles & Dolphins around Maafushivaru

Maafushivaru is a great place to see sea turtles, we have many different spots where you can expect encounters. Most common are hawksbill turtles but we also see green turtles frequently. Loggerhead and olive ridley turtles also exist here but are extremely rare.

Dolphin encounters happen here very often, mostly we see them from the boat but we also get lucky from time to time to snorkel or dive with them. The most common ones that we see diving or snorkeling are bottlenose dolphins. Spinner dolphins and risso dolphins are usually fast and we see them mainly from the boat.
